Nice interview and great group. Made protest songs rock. Ed Cassidy was their drummer – he was all I heard on the song “Mr Skin”, which is about his bald head. Made me want to play drums.
Did Led Zeppelin “borrow” borrow the descending guitar-figure from “Taurus” for Led Zeppelin’s signature song “Stairway to Heaven”.
Led Zeppelin had opened for Spirit in an early American tour, providing the possibility that Led Zeppelin had heard the Spirit song before “Stairway to Heaven” was written.
