Reposting: Not-so Breitbart Unhappy with Climate Video

From January 2016 – an innocent time when we did not understand the depth of the climate denial industry’s hostility to democracy, and compromise by an international criminal gang of oligarchs based in Russia…

One of climate denialdom’s most deranged and angry voices kind of hates my new video.

Jame’s Delingpole, seen below, whose motto is “I’m evil and right about everything.”(sorry Jimmy, only half right..) – deals in a very special kind of blissfully clueless, fact free invective that climate deniers love because it requires no thought or knowledge whatever.

In fact, Delingpole brags that he never takes time to look at tedious science. He’s too busy with other things.

Above, James Delingpole is asked a question. Implodes. He later complained he was “intellectuallyĀ  raped”.

But he is on to me, and calls me out for my malevolent practice of seeming “measured and reasonable”.

Ok, Jimmy, you got me.

James Delingpole in Breitbart:

The climate alarmists have come up with a brilliant new excuse to explain why there has been no ā€œglobal warmingā€ for nearly 19 years.
Turns out the satellite data isĀ lying.

And to prove it they’ve come up with a glossy new video starring such entirely trustworthy and not at all biased climate experts asĀ Michael ā€œHockey Stickā€ Mann,Ā Kevin ā€œTravestyā€ Trenberth,Ā and Ben Santer. (All of these paragons of scientific rectitude feature heavily in the Climategate emails)

The video is well produced and cleverly constructed – designed to look measured and reasonable rather than yet another shoddy hit job in the ongoing climate wars.

Reposting: Exxon – Don’t Have Children – Problem solved

New York Times:

WASHINGTON — As his coal mining company hurtled into bankruptcy, Robert E. Murray, the former chief executive, paid himself $14 million, handed his successor a $4 million bonus and earmarked nearly $1 million for casting doubt on man-made climate change, new court filings show.

The company, Murray Energy,Ā filed for bankruptcy protectionĀ in October, reporting $2.7 billion in debts and more than $8 billion in obligations, in large part to pension and health care plans for workers. But those debts appear to have done little to scale back the spending habits of Mr. Murray, a prominent supporter of President Trump whoĀ helped engineer dozens of climate change and environmental rollbacksĀ over the past three years.Ā

The 79-year-old coal executive has been a vocal denier of the established science that human activities like the burning of coal are causing climate change and once warned that his dying industry must receive subsidies from the federal government ā€œto make sure grandma doesn’t die on the operating table.ā€

According to filings made public this week, Mr. Murray paid himself $14 million for one year’s wages as chairman of Murray Energy while his then-president, Robert D. Moore, who has since become chairman, earned $9 million annually in addition to his retention bonus.

Reposting: Mauri Pelto on Easton Glacier – 2012

On my first crowd-funded field trip with a science team, in 2012, I followed Mauri Pelton and his team up Easton Glacier in the Northern Cascades of Washington state.

Here he gives us a history lesson showing the story the surrounding landscape tells about a giant glacier’s retreat.

Kids don’t try this unless you have a good guide and strong cardio fitness (trust me).

10 Years of Videos – Reposting – Weather or Climate Change?

The “Climate Crock of the Week” series started 10 years ago in 2009, just before the “Climategate” nonsense.
A couple years later I was invited to start the “This is Not Cool” series for Yale Climate Connections.
I’ll be posting favorite videos – the ones I show over and over in presentations or online, over the next couple weeks.
