The story of coal rit large. It’s been known to toxic, cause cancer, black lung, climate change with is weather extremes. I was taught about it in Chem II in 1975.
Telling the big whopper to fool the ethically challenged into just going along with a really bad deal is the Coal way. The mind soak that passes for talking points is propped up by people like Mitch.
These guys need their health needs taken care of like all of the people who live in the USA need a proper health care system like what most of the English speaking world has had for decades. I’m not a democrat and I’m not even a Canadian, I’m Australian.
Whenever I visit the USA I feel so sorry for you guys and the tardy state of politics that you are forced to tolerate due to the shocks that fill your political parties.
One of the happy days just recently was the voting out of the office of the nearest thing Australia had to a Republican – Tony Abbott ex PM. His best mate the ex archbishop of Sydney Cardinal Pell the 3rd most senior Catholic sits in prison for having sex with quire boys. Shame about the climate but they have got what they deserved decades ago!
What do the coal miners deserve?
Seriously, didn’t they just do it for a paycheck and tribal camaraderie? It isn’t as if they had a lot of options.

The video shows the demolition of the Nanticoke Generating Station in Ontario, Canada. The facility was once the world’s largest coal-fired power plant but was decommissioned in 2013. It was finally demolished this week (Aug-22, 2019)
Those demolitions are fun to watch even when they aren’t nasty coal plants.
Frightening how much power the turtle has. And when you think that all those coal miners most likely voted him in each election it shows just how ignorant that part of the country is!
