Biden?
Amen!! Until anyone one who wants to criticize the Green New Deal, they must first show that:
A) they have been working for years to help solve this critical problem and have NOT been part of the problem
or
B) they present a real and effective alternative to solve climate change
There is not just one way to tackle this but most who criticize GND have spent years blocking any real attempt to solve climate change or have failed to get any meaningful action taken. So be a real part of the solution or GET OUT OF THE WAY!
We’re talking about a legislature in part run by a party that yapped about “repeal and replace” Obamacare for 8 years, but had squat for an alternative. I don’t expect them to respond differently to the GND than to Obamacare.

Yep—-and she at least belongs in Elizabeth Warren’s cabinet—-too bad she’s too young to be VEEP.
AOC’s stump speech (that’s what this sounds like) doesn’t seem to me to be markedly different from, e.g., Hillary Clinton’s.
Hilary is in bed with oil and gas and big banks and was using her position as SOS to pressure countries banning fracking to let the US engineers come in on the cheap and get their fracking programs started. Hilary’s 2016 green energy ad promised a quantity of solar energy capacity by 2020 that is equal to what’s already projected to be built under Trump through market forces.
She’s doing a very effective job where she is. The presidency is a meat-grinder for people with different political skill-sets.
There has been so much disruption to so many, caused by weather extremes and climate change, since 2016, will people want change ? I hope so.

Democratic presidential candidates have descended on flood-battered communities on both rivers. Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar and Beto O’Rourke were among those campaigning in Iowa who directly linked the floods to climate change.
That’s a politically sensitive topic in a state where three-quarters of registered Republicans regard climate change as only a “minor” or “no real threat”. But the flooding, and its duration as well as scale, have focused attention on long-term planning to deal with the impact of changing weather patterns even among those who question their cause.

Add to that the damage being done to agriculture by the trade war with China. Not to worry, though—-the hump is going to find 50 billion dollars to tide the farmers over until he “wins” his “squabble”—too bad he’s not smart enough to understand that climate change is likely to make farming a difficult proposition even if the trade war goes away.
