Stephen Hawking on Climate

Should start at the right place but if it doesn’t go to 1:53.

Worth noting that he has one of the grimmest perspectives imaginable –  most climate scientists would agree the situation is dire – but ‘Venus Syndrome” is generally not considered a likely outcome.

But, hey, He’s Stephen Hawking.

Good news here for Elon Musk.

  1. FULL “Venus Syndrome” may be unlikely (but not beyond possible). Venus’s average temperature (864 F) is about 14 times Earth’s (59 F) at present, so we have a long way to go, What we don’t know is whether there’s a tipping point in there that puts us on an irreversible feedback path towards 1/13.8 or 1/13.7 “Venuses”, which would likely end the debate because we’ll be gone.
