I knew it, she really is Wonder Woman.
One of my favorite mind games is analyzing how pop-culture mirrors what’s happening in the real world – they are, after all, our waking dreams.
And I think comic book movies, since they are already myths, make a rich resource for this kind of noodling.
You may have noticed that a wave of women standing up and just refusing to take it any more is having an impact on society. Yup. Wonder Women. Got to admit, it’s a rare media flash for a movie to come at such a, well, pregnant moment.

I can tell you that in my neck of the woods, it’s the women who are the warp and woof of the Resistance against the Trump/Putin attack. They have been magnificent, and I’m still disgusted by the wimpy, lukewarm, quisling, or outright treasonous response from men, especially from my generation.
Below – probably everybody’s favorite scene from the movie – “No Man’s Land”.
And if you haven’t seen it, well, it’s a comic book movie, it won’t change your life, but..
In case you wondered what happens next….

Wonder Woman 2017 is a great movie on many levels, and it IS good to see movies “mirroring what is happening in the real world” (or vice versa?)
Anyone who is “…disgusted by the wimpy, lukewarm, quisling, or outright treasonous response from men…”, not just in the area of sexual harassment but in all elected positions, might consider supporting women running for office through contributions to Emily’s List. Although EL perhaps puts too much emphasis on being pro-choice, the candidates it supports ARE mostly progressive smart women.

I vote for Gal Godot! Wonder Woman for real or not, she’s got more in her little finger than ALL of the Orange Wimp has in all of his (tiny) fingers.
