@vornietom There's hardly anyone at the homoeopathy march but they say that's how it works.

Wonderful statements. Here are some images of the March for Science in Maastricht:

What a great day, what a great statement indeed – just about to enter my seventh decade to see scientists in necessary and urgent protests. Take note politicians there is more to your period of custodianship than just ensuring short term profitability. Get a move on for all our sake. Photography sums it up well in this journalistic piece by Fernando Ramirez, Chron.com / Houston Chronicle.

And a very apt 1971 song from American folk singer-songwriter Tom Paxton.
The 60-80% band for the OECD countries surprises me, does not comport to my experience. Leaves you almost 2 out of 5 people who deny that humans evolved from other mammals/primates. Leaves me wondering where the rest think humans came from, cause there are not that many exponents of a literal Garden of Eden (excluding the USA).
At the March for Science I wished we could sing Tom Lehrer’s Element Song. My fellow volunteers who were scientists knew the words, but not what order to sing them in. Several had never heard of the song or the songwriter!

sung to the tune of “I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General”
There’s antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium,
And hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium,
And nickel, neodymium, neptunium, germanium,
And iron, americium, ruthenium, uranium,
Europium, zirconium, lutetium, vanadium,
And lanthanum and osmium and astatine and radium,
And gold, protactinium and indium and gallium,
And iodine and thorium and thulium and thallium.
There’s yttrium, ytterbium, actinium, rubidium,
And boron, gadolinium, niobium, iridium,
There’s strontium and silicon and silver and samarium,
And bismuth, bromine, lithium, beryllium, and barium.
There’s holmium and helium and hafnium and erbium,
And phosphorus and francium and fluorine and terbium,
And manganese and mercury, molybdenum, magnesium,
Dysprosium and scandium and cerium and cesium.
And lead, praseodymium and platinum, plutonium,
Palladium, promethium, potassium, polonium,
And tantalum, technetium, titanium, tellurium,
And cadmium and calcium and chromium and curium.
There’s sulfur, californium and fermium, berkelium,
And also mendelevium, einsteinium, nobelium,
And argon, krypton, neon, radon, xenon, zinc and rhodium,
And chlorine, carbon, cobalt, copper, tungsten, tin and sodium.
These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard,
And there may be many others but they haven’t been discovered.
This is simply the left who love to riot and march but have never actually made life better for anybody if you count dead bodies. The science they march for is PC science, science that supports their religious beliefs, not science which tells you the truth. An example is the pipeline Obama vetoed when the science did not support the political leftist agenda.
The Trump administration is removing the politics from government and substituting actual science while reducing the bloat in government. All the grantee and hangers on who are marching simply want the bloat to continue so they can live off the taxpayers.
Your single mindedness and perception is truly and horribly warped. To confuse science with left wing politics shows the ingrained confusion in your thinking and in your mind. The marchers included scientists from various disciplines and were making a point that science is being ignored. Not only climate science, that you seem to think has something to do with the mysterious and overused PC phrase. The main thing that worries me about you is that you are probably eligible for jury service. The only thing that worries me more is that I could be called up to serve on the same jury. Yuck bury that thought and hope the lawyers suss you out before any trial ever begins.
Science is not being ignored, it is simply being used to replace the leftist political agenda such as the EPA web site which was a pure propaganda piece not actual science. The actual old page is still there under the Jan 19 link if you want to look at Goebbels in action.
