  5. So here is Jim Himes, a 12 year veteran of Goldman Sachs, and Greenwich (the richest community in the country) Democrat from Connecticut making his grandstanding at Trump-Russia hearings:

    Well, for starters, Congressman Himes, Putin has enough nuclear power to wipe off Connecticut along with all neighboring states off the map. So maybe that’s enough reason not to shoot from the hip? Or does this consideration never occur to you? So a person, who avoids suicide along with distraction of the planet, has to be a Russian agent? Who is a madman here?

      You next advance the idea that you should not stand up to bullies because they might use nuclear weapons.

      And you finish with an ad hominem attack. Note that Trump has appointed actual executives of Goldman Sachs to his cabinet and his administration.

Isn’t this is a great way to take our minds of the real problems – like how Citigroup picked Obama’s cabinet, and the DNC, in cahoots with the White House and the American media determined who would be the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate? Does it bother you that the power has been almost completely wrested from the tax-paying American people – in the name of greed? Did anyone bother to actually READ the Wikileaks? Does it bother any of you that the emails showed Podesta scheming about where to “stick the knife in” Bernie (a true champion of the environment) Sanders? Does it occur to you that it’s in the best interests of both Republicans and Democrats (excuse me, the corporations who are in power) to take everyone’s mind off of what REALLY happened with this election? Does it occur to you that oligarchic greed is the main reason our planet’s environment is in peril? That’s the point of this blog, right? I guess if I bring it up I’ll be branded a Russian whore, too – or maybe a Russian operative, like Julian Assange.

    1. I don’t think they are mutually exclusive.

      You can be mad at the corporate democrats for being corrupt and still be open to any evidence that Trump made a deal with Russia that goes beyond mere oligarchical cronyism. For my part I’m waiting for solid evidence that is easy to understand before I accuse Trump of being a traitor.

      If the FBI would arrest, hold a trial, and find Roger Stone guilty of giving the Russian government the Podesta emails, then I’ll say Trump is a traitor. If good evidence arises that Trump or Trump’s associates were given part of the Russian state oil company or part of the brokerage commission for its sale in December (Russia sold 19% stake to unknown investor who bought it when there were sanctions on it i.e. a topically ‘stupid’ investment for a non-insider), in exchange for Rex Tillerson and friends taking off Russian sanctions, then I’ll call him a traitor.

      However the accusations are not evidence.

    2. Screw the Republicans and the Democrats. I’ve been through with those two parties since 2008. I’ve voted third party in every race in which there was a third party candidate that wasn’t a lunatic. I voted for Johnson in November so don’t blame me for any of the shit coming out of the two main parties.

      We need a viable third party. Most European countries have at least three. Johnson only needed 5% of the vote to give us a third main party. For voters in states in which the outcome was not in doubt and your candidate was going to lose anyway, why didn’t you vote for Johnson so that he could get to 5% and give us a third party with the baked in benefits that the two many douche bag parties get? Like automatic ballot access in all states. Johnson’s campaign had to spend over a $1 million to accomplish that. If he had received 5% of the vote the next Libertarian Party candidate would’ve received automatic ballot access and could’ve spent an extra $1 million on the campaign.

      Nothing will ever change as long as we only have two legitimate choices.

      A campaign manager doing opposition research on his political opponent? I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked!

      You know, I love me some Bernie. I’ve been a progressive my entire adult life, and I’m ecstatic that a true progressive candidate did so well in the Democratic primaries. But, I am also aware there will never be a Democratic majority without an alliance between the progressive and liberal wings.

      One must necessarily distinguish between those oligarchs for whom the interests of business and maintaining class divisions is their exclusive concern and those who believe in liberal democracy and the greatest good for the greatest number.
