Yes, Trump has given new meaning to “G.O.P.”, but I would argue that it hasn’t been the Grand Old Party anyway since Sarah Palin was named the VP candidate in 2008, and stopped being the Party of Lincoln in Nixon’s time. Another apt appellation would be the Grand Obstructionist Party. How about Grand Oppression Party? Grand Obfuscation Party? Grand Offal Party? Grand Opprobrium Party? All are fitting.
(And I realize that one needs to be a bit of a narcissist to do what Maher does, but the camera angles here showed off his Trump-like haircut (in the back anyway), and it was a turn-off for me).
