Interview: Granddaughter of Exxon Climate Scientist

Hear Anna Kalinsky’s questions for Exxon CEO – and his answers.

Kalinsky is the daughter of an Exxon scientist James Black,  who warned management in 1977 that humankind had “5 or 10 years to begin making hard decisions about climate change”.

In listening I’m finding this extremely heartbreaking and excrutiatingly sad.

  1. So – the $64,000 question is; did her family KNOW that is what her grandfather had found? Was he bound to strict non-disclosure so Kalinksy herself did not know about this testimony of her grandfather until Inside Climate News uncovered it this year? If her family and she DID know, why didn’t they call Exxon out on this years ago? I wish Democracy Now had asked these questions.

  2. We are just global cash cows to EXXON, no more no less. There is a class of completely unscrupulous, dispassionate people. EXXON is the epitome. Apart from being cash cows, we are voting their “custodians” into power, and subsidizing their living style.

Senators demand US halt inquiries into climate denial by oil companies

““We write today to demand that the Department of Justice (DoJ) immediately cease its ongoing use of law enforcement resources to stifle private debate on one of the most controversial public issues of our time,” the senators wrote in a letter dated 25 May. ”

  3. Rex Tillerson’s response, ‘Wibble, wibble, meaningless word salad, wibble, wibble’.

That reply to Anna Kalinsky was an insult to Anna and the intelligence of any knowledgeable audience. Tillerson should be in ‘cuffs for crimes against humanity and any lawyers aiding him should be censured.
