Obama: People May be Getting Ahead of Politicians on Climate

Many people don’t trust Obama on Climate – and one can certainly question how he has set priorities from early in his term. I don’t think anyone could have predicted the depth of the race-inspired hatred that would cause republicans in congress to so furiously stonewall every initiative from the Black guy.

That said, he’s got the language right here.

  1. In this modern world of bought and paid for politicians, none of them are completely trustworthy, and Obama made some mistakes early on, but he is certainly on the right track here. In fact, he is saying some of the same things I have said for a very long time, so I am doubly inclined to “trust” him. Let’s hope he’s right about the people getting out ahead—-he has two years left to help that happen.

As for “I don’t think anyone could have predicted the depth of the race-inspired hatred that would cause republicans in congress to so furiously stonewall every initiative from the Black guy”, you are correct, but it should have become obvious within days of his election and long before his inauguration that that’s the path the Repugnants were on, and those of us who have dealt more closely with racism saw it coming even before the election. There was no “hope” that it wouldn’t happen, the only question was how bad it would be. This country will not be free of racism for many decades, if ever.
