Great stuff! The world needs more John Olivers and Jon Stewarts.
The woman depicted has less brains than the penguins she mimics and the ice-eater is no better—-they are both fine examples of the mindlessness and hubris of mankind—-the penguins belong there, tourists do not. It is a great illustration of the failure of the free market philosophy that they can go there just because they have the money to do so.
I do object to the size of the “go here instead of Antarctica” circle near the end of the clip. It includes far too many other places that man has no need to go to beyond self-gratification. The motto should be “Unless you’re going somewhere to do something that benefits the greater good of mankind, STAY THE F**K HOME”
Not only tourists, you have to be sceptical of China’s continued “Scientific” base expansion in the region. Let’s hope there will not be a repeat of the Arctic mineral exploitation frenzy down South.
John Oliver is hilarious! And he says it like it is.
