VICE Media on HBO: Greenland Melting

Description:

Shane Smith embarks on an expedition to investigate why Greenland is melting, and how the resulting sea level rise will mean devastation sooner than expected. This is his Debrief from Season 2 Episode 2 of VICE on HBO.

Vice Media’s Shane Smith spent some time with Dr. Jason Box in Greenland last summer, not long after the Dark Snow trip.  The report is being broadcast tonight, apparently.

I don’t have HBO, so hope someone will let me know if it’s any good.

  1. “Over the past 800 yr, Greenland temperature variability was dominated by background climate changes at the northern hemispheric scale, and these changes are known to be largely the result of solar and volcanic forcing prior to 1850 (Crowley, 2000). However, we find that the deviations in Greenland temperatures from that of the NH are also strongly influenced by atmospheric dynamics such as those produced by the NAO/AO, in which longer-term variations are induced by atmospheric circulation responses to variations in solar outputs, with an additional contribution from the oceanic response.

This finding indicates that the Greenland temperature minimum over the past 800 yr occurred in the early 18th century, in contrast to the minimum for the NH temperature in the 15–16th century…”

    1. Again thanks for the good stuff from Tesla and Beatles, I would have hoped mankind would have reacted earlier, but there is hope yet………………….

  2. The comments section on that VICE snippet is disheartening. Its just incredible how much denier nonsense pops up on these videos. No doubt Peter Sinclair is all familiar with that on his own videos. But I mean, many of them are seriously debunked stuff – they seem to just regurgitate these zombies over and over again. The amount of stupid just baffles me…

    1. I agree the comments and nonsensical comments are disheartening, disturbing and disconcerting, but I do not believe it is the opinion of the majority. Mostly they are comments from a few egotistical dreamers living in a fantasy land of their own making unable to accept reality.
