    1. Revenue that you expected to get, but didn’t, is a loss. For example, if you expect to get your paycheck, but your company folds – that’s a loss for you. Clearer now? You’re welcome.


      1. You mean like expecting it to rain? Or expecting it not to flood? Or expecting crops instead of withered stalks or submerged plants? Yes. That’s a loss and an absence of gain. We seem to be getting a lot of that these days with judging from mounting insurance claims and losses


      2. But I didn’t lose any revenue I already had, the expected revenue that I didn’t get was not subtracted from my bank account – I didn’t lose, I simply didn’t gain more.
