Then, blur that with the long-debunked and insane InfoWars conspiracy theory about “Chemtrails”, alleging some kind of widespread secret weather manipulation, and sprinkle in a few factoids about cloud seeding, which is an actual techniques sometimes used in the hope of producing rain during dry spells.
(Let’s just say, if it was effective, we wouldn’t be worrying about the Colorado River drying up..)

The idea that the government is spreading chemicals in the sky through airplanes has been covered by conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, but the notion went mainstream on Sunday with a discussion on Fox News.

The remarks came during a segment about the Biden administration’s openness to studying how to block some of the sun’s radiation from reaching the Earth to combat climate change.

Climate change denier Marc Morano blasted the proposal.

“This is radical, risky, unproven, unknown effects, but they’re doing it as a sort of lever over us to say now in the Biden administration, kind of like, yeah, we know this is dangerous, we don’t know the effects, but darn it, people aren’t buying electric cars fast enough, or they’re not embracing Green New Deal policies, so we have to risk our entire planet with this insane kind of research,” Morano said.

It’s basically weather modification,” he added. “It’s another form of what the US government has even been doing. The ABC News meteorologist bragged about the cloud seeding they’re doing to increase rain or snow and storms. They will control, the government will control the weather, and you will be happy. That seems to be the new motto.”

Fox News host Joey Jones indicated he believed so-called chemtrails were modifying the weather. But he said Fox News co-host Will Cain disagreed.

“Yeah, I was just talking to Will about the cloud seeding,” Jones said. “He’s not sure if he believes it. And I said, listen, it’s something they’ve been trying to do for a while.”

The Chemtrails Conspiracy Theory

Because of the apparent similarities between the proposed implementation methods for albedo modification (such as injecting reflective particles into the stratosphere), and the alleged methods for producing chemtrails, some people have linked the notion of chemtrails to the study of albedo modification.

There is No Evidence for the Existence of Chemtrails

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. The claim that there is a large-scale secret program to spray materials from aircraft is extraordinary. Yet all the evidence we have seen to date has been very weak. The most common claim is simply that aircraft contrails look “different”, without any comparative analysis. This as convincing as saying that alien beings walk among in disguise as people because some people act very strangely.

If there really were a large-scale program dumping material from aircraft at the scale described, there would have to be a large operating program to manufacture, load and disperse materials. If such a program existed at the scale required to explain the claimed amount of chemtrails, it would require thousands or perhaps tens of thousands of people. It would be extraordinarily hard to keep such a program secret because it would be so easy for a single individual in the program to reveal it using leaked documents, photographs or actual hardware.

You have to admire the initiative of the Electric Viking guy, above – he produces several videos a day, it seems, continuously. What’s useful for me is that to be that productive, he simply reads news items verbatim from the internet and throws in some B roll of power plants and EVs. What I do is just type some of his quotes into google, find the source articles, and usually they are reliable sources, as here.

China has reached its goal to have more non-fossil fuel installed electricity capacity than fossil fuels earlier than planned, with 50.9% of its power capacity coming from non-fossil fuel sources now, Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported on Monday.

Back in 2021, the Chinese authorities said they would target renewables to outpace fossil fuel-installed capacity by 2025.  

China is unmatched in renewable energy spending globally, investing in raising its solar and wind power capacity. 

China’s wind and solar power generation has jumped in recent years to nearly equal domestic residential electricity consumption, but the relatively small share of household demand in overall consumption means that China still needs a lot of fossil fuels.

In 2022, China’s wind and solar power output surged by 21% to 1,190 terawatt-hours (TWh), according to data from NEA cited by Bloomberg. To compare, residential electricity demand last year rose by 14% to 1,340 TWh as people mostly stayed at home due to the zero-Covid policy.

Wind and solar output jumped 21% last year to 1,190 terawatt-hours of electricity, the National Energy Administration said at a briefing on Monday. That’s not far off total residential power consumption of 1,340 terawatt-hours, the NEA said, which was a 14% increase on the prior year as more people spent time at home because of the government’s stringent virus restrictions.

The near match underscores two important things about China’s power system. One, of course, is the rapid growth in renewables as the country sinks hundreds of billions of dollars into meeting climate goals and reducing its reliance on expensive fossil fuels.

But tempering that is a second point: the relative insignificance of household power when it comes to energy demand in China. Just 17% of electricity use there was classified as residential in 2020, according to the International Energy Agency. In the same year, homes accounted for 29% of power consumption in Japan, and a whopping 39% in the US. In China, factories are still king, with industry accounting for 60% of all electricity needs.

Big wake up call this summer for those in the US Heartland who may have deluded themselves to believe that impacts from a warming climate were something happening in far off places, like the Arctic, the west coast, or the developing world.
After weeks of choking smoke and smothering heat across Middle America, a new realization might be slowly dawning.

As Earth’s climate continues to change from heat-trapping gases spewed into the air, ever fewer people are out of reach from the billowing and deadly fingers of wildfire smoke, scientists say. Already wildfires are consuming three times more of the United States and Canada each year than in the 1980s and studies predict fire and smoke to worsen.

While many people exposed to bad air may be asking themselves if this is a “new normal,” several scientists told The Associated Press they specifically reject any such idea because the phrase makes it sound like the world has changed to a new and steady pattern of extreme events.

“Is this a new normal? No, it’s a new abnormal,” University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann said. “It continues to get worse. If we continue to warm the planet, we don’t settle into some new state. It’s an ever-moving baseline of worse and worse.”

It’s so bad that perhaps the term “wildfire” also needs to be rethought, suggested Woodwell Climate Research Center senior scientist Jennifer Francis.

“We can’t really call them wildfires anymore,” Francis said. “To some extent they’re just not, they’re not wild. They’re not natural anymore. We are just making them more likely. We’re making them more intense.”

Several scientists told the AP that the problem of smoke and wildfires will progressively worsen until the world significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which has not happened despite years of international negotiations and lofty goals.

Fires in North America are generally getting worse, burning more land. Even before July, traditionally the busiest fire month for the country, Canada has set a record for most area burned with 31,432 square miles (81,409 square kilometers), which is nearly 15% higher than the old record.
