After waiting around for 3 hours yesterday, I decided this turbine wasn’t going up before dark, so decided to come back.
Made it in a nick of time to jump out of the car and set up camera at this site. Apex Wind Energy’s 360 MW Isabella Wind site in Michigan is ginormous, and has the tallest towers in the state, one of which you see here.
New video, coming out soon, will explain how renewable energy is now competitive everywhere in the US, one more reason why 90 percent renewable electricity by 2035 is very do-able.
Can we all agree that engineers are amazing?
Efficiency, durability and output are key factors for every wind turbine. Do you have that info for these units? Their website offers nothing.

The backhoe crossing the bottom at the end gives a sense of scale.
The man walking around on the nacelle catwalk at the beginning gives an even better sense of scale—-looks like and ant on a distant wall.
Notice the blades bending slightly every time the whole thing bounced on the cable. I love seeing big-time engineering

Only if they stay within their areas of expertise and make things that actually work. Those that use their supposed expertise to support BS and lies are despicable—-like the ones that signed the Oregon Petition.
