Richard Alley’s “Earth the Operator’s Manual” is more than a one-time PBS special, it is an ongoing project in climate education.
Part of that effort is a new series of short videos meant as ammo in the war of ideas in social media – ‘How to Talk to an Ostrich”. I’ll be posting more of these this week. The series is hosted of course, by Dr. Alley, one of Climate science’s most engaging communicators. I’ve featured Dr. Alley in a number of videos, such as the one embedded below.
In the interests of balance can I suggest the TV company fire Pat Michaels out of a cannon ?
There is no changing the minds of many deniers. The worst could happen and they will find some excuse to blame it on natural cycles or whatever.
So cool. When I first saw it I thought it was a one-off special, but a series? PBS deserves a big donation this year.
I understand that the northern latitudes will experience greater warming but hearing 18 degrees F jump with 280 ppm and seeing the short term tipping points kind of freaks me out. I don’t think I can look at a smooth temperature curve seriously again.
