Has Denier Karma finally Run over its Dogma?

Karma’s a Bitch.

At least it has been in my life. Generally, what goes around comes around – well, not if your last name is Bush and you live in the rarified strata of those who only fail up  – but generally for us little people, this is the case.

Many climate deniers obviously believe they are above the laws of cause and effect, that the normal laws of physics and man do not hold for them. Hence we have the obvious arrogance of the individual or individuals stealing emails from climate scientists.

Tonight, there’s disquiet among those who might  have thought themselves untouchable. Tonight, there’s a quiver on the dark side. I don’t frequent any of these blogs – their inside baseball venom and self dramatization bore me. But a few of them have just gotten a little mail from the Department of Justice.

The Air Vent:

Tallbloke a fellow recipient blog of the climategate emails, and linked on the right, was raided today in what seems to be a coordinated effort by Metropolitan Police, the Norfolk Constabulary and the Computer Crime division and the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division.  His home was raided and computers were taken for ‘examination’.

Updates are coming shortly which will explain further.  The same is coming to a blogger near you.

Perhaps this post should be titled  –  “The Empire Strikes Back”

—-

Right – the persecution complex ever at the ready.

Save the drama for your mama.

  1. I don’t know about karma, but certainly a fair exercise in the execution of a criminal investigation. To me, it would seem that probable cause would lead to investigate whether one of the recipients of the hacked emails somehow figured out the identity of the source.

    Is WUWT also in line for this type of investigation? If I recall correctly, that blog also received the initial package of emails from the anonymous source.

  2. A list;
    This made my day.

    I look forward to prosecutions.

    The Game’s afoot.

    A question;

    Is baseball venom like the ill informed braggadocio that happens among middle aged men in pubs all over Great Britain?

    A proverb;
    Opinions are like arse-holes, everybody has one and they should be kept hidden in public.

  3. ‘not paid to be clueless’ stated: “totally clueless about British politics (and newsmedia).”

    There is a pronounced divergence between British newspaper reporting about the climate and climate science.

    “This letter explores daily print media coverage of climate change in four United Kingdom (UK) tabloid newspapers: The Sun (and News of the World), Daily Mail (and Mail on Sunday), the Daily Express (and Sunday Express), and the Mirror (and Sunday Mirror). Through examinations of content in articles over the last seven years (2000–2006), triangulated with semi-structured interviews of journalists and editors, the study finds that UK tabloid coverage significantly diverged from the scientific consensus that humans contribute to climate change….”

    Maxwell T Boykoff and Maria Mansfield

    In my experience the Telegraph’s reporting of climate and climate science is likewise strongly skewed. For instance Christopher Monckton is often a contributor and is known for his irrational, bogus and self-contradictory claims about the climate.

    The Guardian and the Independent are seemly fairly reliable regarding climate and climate science.

    Not sure about the Times and Sunday Times, but as for the Murdoch press in general, I suspect accuracy loses out to dogma. Hard to be certain.
    Paid access limits research.

    So ‘not paid to be clueless’ is pretty clueless.

  4. BTW..if you get strange trackbacks here or elsewhere from “Ocasapiens” in Italian after I post a comment, there is this feckless Italian journalist whose main activity appears to be following me on Google in order to post abysmal bullying attempts at her blog.

    I would feel proud of being an inspiration of anything, however if a blog is measured by the quality of its content, a blog where I am the content can’t be that good.

  5. I do not believe in the supernatural but I have always seen evidence, here and there, that karma may be for real. This email from the DOJ reenforces that belief 🙂
