  1. Standing (Maybe Illegally) in Middle Ground and Hoping You’ll Join Us

I want to tell you about an upcoming action–it looks set to turn into the biggest civil disobedience protest in the history of the North American climate movement. It will take place at the White House from August 20-Sept. 3, and we need your help spreading the word. But I want to explain the reasoning behind it in some detail, because for me it helps illustrate how some of the debate about Obama is unproductive.

Yes we can! (change and secure climate)

  2. I wish you luck and I think civil disobedience plays a helpful role in the discourse. In fact, I sang some good protest songs in Madison last week (the good left are still meeting at noon daily).

That said, I sure hope Hanssen and his direct reports do not show up, it takes away any argument that they are unbiased scientists.

    1. In response to your negative remarks about Hansen, a scientist working for “Decades” to bring the topic of climate change to serious attention.

An ad hominem (Latin: “to the man”), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an attempt to link the truth of a claim to a negative characteristic or belief of the person advocating it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem

James E. Hansen (born March 29, 1941) heads the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City, a part of the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. He has held this position since 1981. He is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Hansen

This man has done incredible, excellent work on all kind of fields of climate science. He is one of the most respected person when to consult climate change experts.
