More Proof of Global Warming. Palm Trees in Madison, Wisconsin.

Thanks to Fox News, we have yet more proof of the incredibly rapid onslaught of global warming – the sudden appearance of palm trees in Madison Wisconsin, in February, no less. You can see them plain as day in the above video at about 1:41.

Thank God there’s still some place you can go for the real scoop on this quickly evolving story.

DeChristopher Guilty: Sentencing to Follow

SALT LAKE CITY —

The man accused of monkey wrenching a controversial oil and gas auction was found guilty Thursday afternoon.

Tim DeChristopher, 29, claims he did it in the name of climate justice. However, his defense has been limited to whether or not he actually committed the crime. On the witness stand, DeChristopher said he made the decision to start bidding in part as a protest to the sale of oil and gas leases in some of Utah’s most pristine redrock country.

Now there will be a sentencing decision, in which the prosecution has announced they will not seek the maximum penalty.
The potential penalties range from 10 years in prison to probation.

Blogging Community Besieged – WordPress weathers DOS Attack.

Apologies for the difficulty many folks had accessing this site on Thursday – you weren’t alone. WordPress, the blogging service that is the platform for this blog and thousands of others, was undergoing a severe DOS (Denial of Service) attack, where hackers direct a fleet of zombie computers to make simultaneous requests to a target server with the intention of bogging down service.
