Just like, we don’t know which cigarette finally tipped your metabolism into Cancer or a Heart Attack. But sooner or later, you do start to notice that hacking cough, the raspy voice, the shortness of breath. It’s a slow killer, but a sharp nurse or doctor can tell as soon as you open your mouth that you’re a long time smoker. By that time, damage is done.
But if you stop, recovery is possible.
It’s a metaphor.
Also an excuse to run some cool pictures of extreme weather from up over and down under. Below there are more images of Cyclone Yasi, the Groundhog day storm in the US, and video of a building collapsing from snow in the northeast – something we might be seeing more of, if this negative Arctic Oscillation is the new normal.
Climate Metaphor — are we in Stage 3 or Stage 4 cancer? Is there enough hope to quite smoking?
If this is the sinking of the Titanic, is the band still playing? Or are we transitioning to the lifeboats.
Or my favorite, we have jumped out of the airplane with yarn and knitting needles – we have to work fast to make a parachute on the way down
I don’t think it’s that bad.
Maybe we jumped out of the plane with tarp and ducktape.
